Where the Forest Burns, New Life Begins

There is something remarkable about fireweed. After a wildfire sweeps through a forest, leaving behind blackened trees and ash, nature begins its renewal. Fireweed is often among the first plants to flourish across the opened landscape, its brilliant pink-purple flowers bringing colour to places that once seemed lifeless.

Its wind-carried seeds can settle into exposed ground, while surviving underground roots can send up fresh growth. Fireweed thrives in clearings, disturbed soils, and places where the land is beginning again. It is a beautiful reminder that even after destruction, life finds a way forward.

A Plant Rooted in Traditional Knowledge

Fireweed has a long history of use among Indigenous peoples in northern regions, both as a food plant and in traditional herbal preparations. Young shoots were gathered as spring greens; the leaves were steeped as tea; and different parts of the plant were prepared traditionally for digestive and skin concerns. These are historical uses, not established medical benefits of this tea.

From the Canadian Wilderness to Your Cup

Our Wildcrafted Fireweed Tea features naturally dried fireweed leaves and flowers, personally harvested and prepared by Alberta Wildcraft. Unlike fermented fireweed teas, ours is left unfermented, allowing its naturally green, earthy character and delicate floral notes to shine through.

No artificial flavours, added ingredients, or fillers. Just pure Canadian fireweed.
