EMBERBORN™ Fire Cubes are a high-performance, wildcrafted firestarter exclusively developed and made by Alberta Wildcraft.

These are handcrafted from a never-before-offered blend of wild-harvested pine and spruce resin, pure beeswax, and traditional tinder conk mushroom.  Tinder conk (Fomes fomentarius) is one of the oldest known fire materials on Earth.

Carried by Ötzi the Iceman over 5,000 years ago, tinder conk was valued because it catches fire easily, holds heat, and burns steadily instead of flaring out.

EMBERBORN™ was created because our family wanted a fire starter we could rely on — something easy to carry, easy to light, and capable of staying lit long enough to matter. We wanted a tool that performs in a wide range of conditions and holds up when fire isn’t optional. We also wanted something practical that our kids can easily light to get their fires going.

Resin-soaked bark and traditional bushcraft igniters are excellent tools, and we still use them. But we also wanted something different — something stronger, tougher, and purpose-built for consistent, repeatable performance. EMBERBORN™ is that tool: made from wild, functional materials and tested the hard way, outdoors, in real conditions.

Where most firestarters rely on paraffin, sawdust, or chemical accelerants, EMBERBORN™ Fire Cubes are built from real fire materials, refined through extensive field testing to deliver fast ignition, controlled burn, and extreme reliability—even in wet or freezing conditions.

Each cube is hand-cut, intentionally rugged, and designed for actual use, not aesthetics.

PERFORMANCE TESTED

During testing, EMBERBORN™ cubes:

• • Lit after being dipped in water
  • Lit after 15 minutes submerged
  • Lit after 6 hours submerged
  • Ignited consistently within 10–20 seconds
• Lights even on top of snow and stays lit
• Burn time is 7 to 10 minutes per cube, long enough to build your fire.
• Cube slows down after 8 minutes of straight burn

Winter Fire Test (–5°C)

One EMBERBORN™ Iceman Fire Cube was lit directly on snow and sustained flame long enough to dry damp, snow-buried wood and establish a strong initial fire.

Lighting directly on snow was performed for testing purposes.
For best results, place the cube on bark, wood, or a small fire base so the fire can build lasting coals.

Winter field tested at ~-5°C (open setup) on mini survival stove

• 1 cube: heats 1 cup of water to hot drink temperature

• 2 cubes: produces bubbling / warm water, not a full boil

EMBERBORN™ Iceman Fire Cubes are designed to establish fire reliably, not replace stove fuel.
For a rolling boil in winter, additional cubes or a more efficient setup may be required. Results may improve in warmer conditions.

Please note: These are not spark tinder. Emberborn™ cubes are high-output fire starters designed to be lit with a flame and provide sustained heat while you build your fire.

All natural resin fire starters produce black smoke — this is normal. Emberborn™ cubes are not intended to be used as the sole fuel source; they are designed to establish and maintain flame while your fire is built on top of them.

HOW TO USE

Place one cube beneath your kindling or fire lay.
-Ignite using a match or lighter.
-Allow the initial flame to establish and stabilize.
-Build your fire as normal once kindling catches.

 One cube is often enough. Use more only when conditions demand it.
